That's a good idea Devin and I agree that they produce high-quality items. Have you received a reply yet?

So what's the difference between Vinyl 180 and Joe Black from Universal?

Vinyl 180 are a company that specialise in producing re-releases of albums on 180g vinyl. This sometimes includes bonus 7" singles as part of a package. Previous releases include some of Gary Numan's and Ultravox's back catalogue. This would bode well for a League re-release.

Joe Black, to the best of my knowledge, used to work as an executive for Universal and now has his own company called Hey Joe! As VOB said he has an extensive knowledge of the record company business and has been heavily involved with the AVBSG/Anthology project. Virgin/EMI are a subsidiary of Universal and Universal is one of the biggest record companies in the world. Obviously the Octopus, Secrets and Credo songs and videos had to be licensed from their parent labels for the compilation so more than likely Joe is the man who knows the execs at these labels. From the outside it appears that he is the one, apart from Simon Watson of course, to approach about the viability of releasing Secrets and Octopus on vinyl. The romantic? album on the other hand has been deleted for a long time. Whether this is by mutual consent I don't know. Hopefully octopus can give us some info about that. romantic? at the very least deserves to be digitally re-mastered and re-released on cd. Simon Fowler took some excellent portraits at the time. Check out the stunning promo shots of Joanne and Susan in the AVBSG book and tour programme. A vinyl re-release with enhanced artwork is also a possibility. Hysteria and Crash were digitally re-mastered and released in America back in 05. This means that romantic? is the only album in the Virgin back catalogue not to have been re-mastered and re-released ...yet.
