February 2017

Come on you lot, wake up!!

Always whinging about how the Aussie Department starts the monthly thread too early due to the time difference, and then when lethargy does finally set in down under you still don't do it!

Anyway, some summer festival dates appearing.

Carry on. :p
Well who's that shouting? John, ex-Moderator - all he ever gives us is pain!

I don't know about you guys but I still get a sense of excitement whenever a Human League song comes on the radio/Absolute 80s. At the moment what is 'particularly tingling my molecules' is "Open Your Heart" which still sounds as marvellously fresh and dynamic as it did when I first heard it on its original release when I first got to spin my brand new 12".

Happy times and memories!!! =D

looks like my attempt to get back 'on message' and talk about matters relating to The Human League clearly failed... :/

I think that all of the tracks on Dare still sound as fresh and fantastic as when I first heard them, it's part of why I still come back to that album and go to the concerts. I like all of the League's albums but Dare is still my favourite and probably always will be, in fact it's my favourite album of all the many that I have in my record collection.

What do we think of the Parralox version of The Lebanon? Haven't heard it you say? Fear not Leaguesters for it's right here:

Has anyone had a replacement track listing sent for the Anthology album? It's been 3 months now.

As I said before I'm suspecting you will have to write to the pubs and ask for it!

There's an extended version of the EMP's Night People @wallofsound. Couldn't get it to play on my iPhone.

Interesting l like it quite a lot but I think it would sound even better with the league singing. But yeah a nice try.

Were your suspicions not alerted by the words "I wasn't expecting that" ???

JJ, no, I just assumed that as nobody had said that they had received the update then the publishers were maintaining a masterful silence and hoping that no one would ask, thus keeping their costs down. I certainly haven't received a corrected track listing.

THL posted a statement on FB today about it -

Have those of you who have been waiting for a replacement booklet and back label for your Anthology deluxe box sets from Virgin / Universal received them yet?
We have been chasing Universal very regularly about this and they have assured us more than once they have dealt with it so if any of you still haven't received your replacements please post on this thread and we will follow up with them for you. This has honestly been as annoying to us as we are sure it has been to many of you and we will not give up until each and every person who bought the box set has been made whole.
Our sincere apologies yet again for any upset caused and thank you all for your patience.

Can't be cheap for them fixing this error. Sending out the additional books though is a great sweetener.

I bought my copy of Anthology (the 3 cd+dvd) version via Amazon, has anyone else who purchased this way not yet received the replacement tracklisting and booklet?
