July 2017

I tell you no JuLies (July's) it is a new month and we are now into the second half of 2017... where did all the time go!

A week today, 8th July 2017 Human League are part of 'Let's Rock' up at Southampton Common along with some other people also performing. Too expensive for me but, fingers crossed, I hope there might be some footage cropping up on YouTube!

Yeah I noticed this event but there where too many bands I didn't won't to see to interest me. Besides it might rain and having watched one concert outside in the drizzle (Dyrham Park) I didn't fancy a repetition.

I guess this is a question for Stig. I was looking at the Leagues web sight and when I finished and looked at my MacPro. There was a logo for the web sight that I haven't seen before. It was in the section of frequently visited web sights. It looks like a speedometer. Don't know if it was something generic, something that was done for last years release and tour, or something that's about to happen.

Hi Kevin

It's a 'favicon' - a small image (icon) you can make to a website shown in the URL/adress field in a browser. The one you mention is a knob, you knob :p
It's taken from a large selection of tour layout suggestions I did for the 2016 tour, before it was decided to go with Pete McKee's designs - below one of the mock-ups.

Nice Stig. Technically though those 'knobs' should be set at different settings. Just saying.

Do you have a version of this without the tour dates?

=D Well you could have mocked up a technically correct version. Why would you mock up a technically incorrect version?? Only a big knob would do that.

Well, to be honest, I think I did a version with the different settings, but my OCD kicked in. They HAVE to be aligned.

You've NEVER played a synth if you think all the knobs are set the same.

Is there a version without the tour dates? I've asked this question earlier but you chose not to answer it.

Jeeesus, it's just a graphical representation! Yeah I saw your request and ignored it because you are giving me a hard time - why? the knobs are also aligned on those. :p

Still didn't answer my original question. Jesus, you should be a politician. Side step every question thrown at you. Why am I giving you a hard time? When have I ever given you an easy time of it?? Now answer the original question. Do. You. Have. A. Version. Of. This. Without. The. Tour. Dates? Sheesh!

Technically speaking, I haven't. I do however have the Indesign and Illustratorfiles, which makes it possible to both twist the knobs and remove the tour dates....if I wanted to. Satisfied? ;-)

Well you could start off a setup session with all the knobs in a default mid position or zeroed. I would, just saying.

I think I stepped on twinkle toes shoes.

I was actually complimenting the big dope. I like the design. If he put a bit more effort in I'd like it even more. I don't know, these Dames (oops Danes) are very touchy aren't they??? =D

nah, but I do disagree with you on the knob-thingy (you probably have loads of knob-issues, I guess) - it HAS to be aligned for design-nerdy reasons you can't comprehend. Sticking to your ideas just because some random Irish dude decides to share his "wisdom" on an online forum, is NOT the same as being touchy.

(I missed this banter stuff!)

Ahhhh the good old days when we could rip the head off each other and nobody took offence. =D

Speaking of knobs and stuff I see that Midge Ure is doing some gigs in October and has said that he's dusting off some of his analogue synths to do some electro shows playing old Ultravox material - no acoustic crap.

Electronic Sound magazine are doing a feature on Sheffield bands from 1977 to 1981 and obviously THL feature quite prominently. Think it's out next week but can be pre-ordered now.

Bagpipes??? In Ireland? I very don't think so.
That would be Scotland. There are no bagpipes in Ireland. Saint Patrick ran them out of the country back in the day. =D

*You can tell there's loads of League news happening can't you?*
