October 2017

Well, here we are...
70-odd days until the League hit Aussie and New Zealand shores, summer's on the way...life is good
If you haven't already seen it, check out the interview for Australian TV that Philip did a few days ago. It's in the Australian Tour main thread in the Live section.

I thought I would mention, if anyone is interested, that from the 32 designs for this year I have now revised/updated 16 of them for 2018. However there continues to be a problem using photobucket so I don't know how I can share them with you guys.

What is the best (preferably) free image sharing site around at the moment?

Thanks in anticipation :) ;)

Sarah, you could try flickr.com. Although when I tried it I had trouble setting up an account, was using a tablet though. Sighs. =|

The Pet Shop Boys reissues of the "Yes" and "Elysium" albums with bonus content are out today (if you're buying, buy instore at HMV - they give away free album cover art prints, while stocks last) and like the previous reissues they come with a booklet with individual track commentary.

"This Used To Be The Future" is on the first "Yes" bonus CD, and the commentary will obviously be of interest to League fans. I will try to get a scan of that bit up later.

Thanks for that Thirteen.

What is 'Space Age Future' that Phil mentioned? Did that turn into something else?

I was going to post anyway Danny C but wasn’t sure which thread to use until you mentioned it. They are clearly big fans of Phil & THL. The Space Age song they mention is a mystery though ??

From what i could gather in the PSB booklet phil say's : We had a song which reminded me of TUTBTF called "Space Age Future "
only PSB song had lyrics where our song's lyric was repeated dozen's of times this was recorded before Joanne & Susan joined H.L
So i guess it's probably a very early Mark 1 H.L ?

Speaking of the early League I have to state how much I love Russell Mulcahy's video for Circus of Death. The pioneering use of hand-held cameras. Years ahead of it's time and a true classic. The close-up shots of Adrian's slides. It looks like it must have been shot on film to have captured the deep and vivid colours so well. Fantastic panning shots around the band and really captures the tone of the song. Very atmospheric. I'm sure Sean Turner knows more about when and where this was filmed but it must rank as one the best pieces of footage of the original group.
