BBC Radio Documentary recordings **HELP NEEDED**

Hi everyone.

I've received a message from Mark Simpson at the BBC. He is a radio producer and is making a classic albums programme about Dare, and is looking to see if anyone has a copy of previous BBC documentaries and interviews on the album. He can only use BBC material and is hoping someone might have recorded things from stations like BBC Radio 1.

If you do, please do not send them to me - his contact details are as follows:

Email: mark.simpson@bbc.co.uk

Or you can send physical things to:

Mark Simpson
BBC Radio 2
99 Great Portland Street
London
W1A 1AA

Anything sent will be returned to you by special delivery.

I don’t believe I have anything in audio from the BBC. Just tonnes of magazine interviews.

Couldn’t he do a new interview with Phil & Co? Why keep looking back at Dare though? I’d rather hear about what they’re up to now but I suppose Joe Bloggs wants to know about Don’t You Want Me for the 1000th time. Even Reproduction & Travelogue would be more interesting than Dare.

Didn't they already do a classic albums show on Dare? I am convinced I have it on a CD somewhere that someone off the forum did, this is yeeeears ago though.

I'm quite certain that Radio 2 broadcast a show about Dare in the early noughties and it was presented by Rick Wakeman. I don't have a recording of it but think it was about 30 minutes duration. Dare is long overdue to be part of the Classic albums series produced by Eagle Vision. They are excellent documentaries many of which have been broadcast by the BBC and Sky Arts.

It’s great that there’s still interest in THL but Dare..... again. :p

It's a Classic Albums programme.

There's only one THL album that, in the wider world of music (ie not their die hard fans), fits that bill.

There are new people picking up on the Human League and Dare all the time so it won't do any harm for a new documentary to be made, perhaps some of us will archive this programme.
