I didn't expect to hear The Human League in/on...

Postby JJ » Sat Jun 02, 2007 1:48 pm

Let's carry this on.

I didn't expect to hear both Being Boiled and the 12" of DYWM at the North Star Bar in Philadelphia the other day, bearing in mind the rest of the crap the DJ was playing!

Got off the plane in Malta last Saturday, picked up a cab to transfer to villa and Electric Dreams was playing on the radio (nice way to start a holiday:)

But Electric Dreams is not a Human League song; it is an Oakey & Moroder song (yes I know the arguments about it having become one via osmosis but, remember, I am a pedant). ;)

Not with me it isn't - I regularly listen to it and actually like every single track on it.

Even Valerie? I like every track on it except Valerie. The lyrics are just toooo dumb.

I meant to say "forgotten by the public" (where is that embarrassed smiley when you need it)

It was a great solo project and if it wasn't for TIED it would be easily forgotten, shame really as the remastered CD released ain't half bad.

I agree lyrics generally is not one of the strengths of this album, yeah Valerie is indeed pretty lame but I guess it was just to find anything that could match the music.

Yup, even Valerie. I can gloss over the lyrics.

RIGHT NOW, The Hits music channel are counting down '20 songs that made the 80s' and no. 3 is Don't You Want Me! Yay! It beat Madonna...and Michael Jackson...and Culture Club and Kylie...but not Frankie Goes To Hollywood :(

George Michael gig last night at Wembley. Obviously the Shoot the Dog track contains Love Action, but George was actually singing parts of Love Action too.

I thought that's why he chucked Jennifer Aniston - so he could copy you and go out with Angelina Jolie ;)

came back from watching OCEAN's 13 this afternoon, and yeah, the ringtone started off at "..when I met you." interesting ringtone; the film rocked!

MArk Radcliffe has been popping up in promos on radio 2 through out the day.

He utters the lines "It's not always true that time heals all wounds, there are wounds you don't want to heal" to promote a program about silly things that famous people have done.
