Amazing, not the sort of track you expect to hear as musak.

HA! Well, not exactly... more of an extended train interchange... so decided to go for a brief wander ... went into town then thought I might was well wander past HL Studios (as you do)... popped into Curry's where 'Gordon's Gin' was not so much 'muzak' as really blaring out, which made me smile, wandered past the studio and back to the train station :)

I didn't expect to hear Don't You Want Me on a film I watched over the weekend - a Swedish film called 'We Are The Best' about young schoolgirls who start a punk band. DYWM was the music for some dance troupe at a school event :D

I kind of expected to hear Electric Dreams on Bad Robots this week :)

Last night on BBC 2 they showed an episode of The Young Ones, they were having a student party and Rik Mayall produced a copy of Dare and asked"anyone like the HumN League?",he then proceeded to put it on the record player, just as the opening notes of "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of"were played the police came in and smashed the record player saying that the music was too loud.

In Filthy,Rich and Catflap which was the follow up series to The Young Ones, there was a scene in a nightclub and the music being played was" I Need Your Loving"

I can also remember the BBC programme Ski Sunday always using the instrumental of"The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" as a intro.

Your sharp I used to watch Ski Sunday before I got Sky TV channels and I missed that. Is Ski Sunday still on, anyone?

As it happens I'm just listening to Dare at home. The League are usually played wall to wall at home over Christmas, always cheers me up; Bah Humbug etc.

I'm guessing it must have been in the early 80's when Ski Sunday used The tune,I'm not sure wether the Beeb still show it anymore.

You mention playing the Human League all over Christmas, don't forget they were No 1 on Christmas day 1981.

I saw a programme on BBC (I think!) last Sunday, about random Christmas number 1's from over the years. Although they didn't do a specific feature on DYWM they still played it during a section about yuppies and office parties in the 80's...

Ski Sunday has been back on BBC 2 the past couple of weeks.
It still has the familiar theme tune but it looks like they've done away with using THL instrumental as an intro.

I was pleasantly surprised last night, just after the 8.00pm news, Jo Whiley's Radio 2 Monday show kicked off with '(Keep Feeling) Fascination' that the DJ said she was playing for her cabbie, clearly a wheelman of good musical taste! :)

Thanks a lot for that :) I was just thinking about Jam and Lewis a few days ago so your timing is perfect. Jimmy really has a detailed memory of his life and career. A very descriptive recall and a lovely wit too. I have to smile when thinking about Prince playing basketball but what's even weirder is that he has an older brother who is over six foot tall! That's the most detail I've read about the recording of Crash and I believe every word of that interview.

I was watching the 80s comedy film "Weird Science" on DVD early this morning, seen it loads of times before but today was the first time I noticed...

Behind Wyatt as he starts to get the idea from watching Frankenstein movie on television you can see initially behind him on the wall, a poster of the central artwork for the "Hysteria" album (i.e. cut up montage of photos with the bold lettering multicoloured Human League name above). Didn't realise there was a poster of this, guess it was an initial promotional item on the album's first release in the US(?)

DYWM in Mel's Diner. Nor did I expect to see the guys in the next booth singing along to it.
