Just saw 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' - and were a bit surprised to hear DYWM sung by a drunken helicopter pilot Karaokee-style in a bar in Greenland... great movie, btw.

It went on the OST....sadly not in the drunken version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRi9eJG_bjY

Was on hold to Plus Net a moment ago ..... the same guys who used Heaven 17 in this advert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqxH9iXUDf0
Anyway, talk about keeping it in the family, I went on hold several times and each time got Don't you want me.
I thought that was funny as Joanne said to me that they couldn't afford the song for the advert. That'll be keeping it in the family too then ;-)
I guess BT can only run to a few quid for a PRS music on hold licence.

Thought it was a nice surprise for Jo Wiley to play 'Don't You Want Me' on her Radio 2 show last night at 8.10pm... the last one before she goes on holiday.

On t.v. there was a commercial for Kingsford charcoal (for outdoor grills) and voices were singing from Fascination, "And so the conversation turned
Until the sun went down".....but unfortunately, it wasn't THL... still, I was surprised to hear it!

Mixed feelings about Human League cropping up on 'Forgotten 80s' last night with penultimate show tune 'Life On Your Own'. Delighted that it featured but is it one of many of their back catalogue singles from that decade that rarely get played to more main stream radio stations/programs nowerdays.

Some friends of mine went to see 'The Commitments' musical the other day (said it was crap btw).

The League's DYWM was discussed on the stage during the show and it was described as 'art house shite, made by rich kids with rich parents'. :O

Cheeky buggers! =D

Made me smile that just after the 7.30am news bulletin Anneka Rice pulled out "Mirror Man" to play it on her show. I think Anneka, Jo (Wiley) and other DJs on Radio 2 are still happy to occasionally play a Human League tune which is great to hear!

The trouble is they don't play any of the newer songs, or does anyone know better?

I was watching an episode of Grange Hill from 1983 and Claire Scott asks about getting tickets to the Human League gig. Actually when this was recorded, in the autumn of 1982, this would have been a real event and the League were at the height of their success. Couldn't see Gripper Stebson going, he would more likely be into the Anti Nowhere League.

In the new Spandau Ballet movie that was premiered last night in cinemas all over IRL / UK.
"Being Boiled" was played at one point in the film, and there was footage of Joanne / Susan / Phil from the DYWM video, as well as a TOTP picture of the band at number 1. This was in the section of the film where Spandau were saying how well their rivals were doing while they didn't seem to be having hits.

Absolute Radio played DYWM as I was sorting out my garage. I've heard Abs 80s Radio play the League but not one of it's sister channels. =D

Come Dine with Me earlier this week - Mirror Man was playing whilst they were looking at someone's menu. No idea why, couldn't see the relevance myself!

So I walked into Curry's in Sheffield (don't ask...) and as soon as I did, 'Gordon's Gin' started playing (!!)
