I might try going to this instead of the Colston Hall. It's a good venue with a decent dance floor between the stage and the seats.

Anywhere's better than Colston Hall, let's face it.

Hahaha. =D Just because you fell foul of the gorillas doesn't make it the worse venue. I've been to some real flea pits in the past, usually Victorianesque cinemas with a stage, oh and village halls. But I wouldn't blame you for not visiting again.

The gorillas are only a small part of my issue with Colston Hall. The venue itself isn't the problem either. The biggest issue is that the audience stays in their seats for virtually the entire concert. THL should play with their heads and, at Bristol only, do the gig in reverse so start with TIED and DYWM - that'd confuse the hell out of the buggers.

Maybe start with DYWM, but 02 arena better, standing only. HL played there on one tour, 2004, I think. Better atmosphere but smaller venue.

Not going to this venue now, I weighed up the pros and cons and decided to get tickets for the Colston Hall. It's a shame the BIC is such a nice venue. A well maybe next time.

Well all I can say is HOLY COW!

Amazing visuals - much improved over the European leg with full production. Staggering start. Slightly longer set too.

Set opens - band elevated between two sets of 8' tall horizontal concertina stands at the front which also act as projection screens. the band visible effectively through a 'slit' between them. A real WOW moment.
The two infamous bass notes sound and we smash straight into Being Boiled. Philip stands in front of the screens on his own - usual incredible red video but so powerful with PO out on his own in front. BB performed like this throughout, PO out on front on his own in front of the screens.
Just an awesome start. Then as the Girls come out it is into more in-yer-face stuff with Sound of the Crowd. Again, amazing visual effects.
Won't go on but the crowd were just awe-struck.
Set list mixed around since Europe, also gaining Louise and a whole section of ballads - One Man, Human and Louise.
Then the usual dancing conclusion including Mirror Man and DYWM as finale.
Encore was TTDAMO and TIED.

heard people afterwards who totally loved it. As did I - 10/10 - powerful, professional, spectacular. The League at their best.

Jeez I can't wait until Wednesday, this description sounds like the last time I saw the League. Absolutely bloody fantastic, they really put on an amazing performance :p. And someone thinks they're just going through the motions?

THL didn't played "Louise" and "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" on the european tour. Any guess why?
