Did you try ordering thru the box office John? Always works for me at the Colston Hall, but then I'm never after front row tickets which are, I think, block booked by the ticketing sites, bastards.

You can only buy through Ticketmaster, and because it's still only the pre-sale you can't do it over the phone until it's on general sale.

Bit of a weird one last night. Nothing to do with the band as such who seemed very happy - in fact PO was very talkative: everything from the temperature to shit haircuts - but every 2nd or 3rd song large chunks of the audience sat back down.

They changed the order round a bit from Adelaide, this time doing Mirror Man rather than OYH as the second song after Sky which, much as I really love it, I don't really think should be the opener.

I struggle to understand the band's fondness for playing Sky live, nearly nobody knows it and most of those who know it are pretty ambivalent about it. It's a bizarre track, an absolutely cracking build up, to a chorus with no hook.

I absolutely love Sky, and I'm glad they play it. I just don't think it's best used as the opener.

Hard Times was a stonkingly great opening!

How can you NOT like 'Sky' - it's a fab track. So is Hard Times! No wonder it's a puzzle for them to do a setlist! ;-)

Wash your mouth out ya pup! =D

Sky is dreary. It would fit in well on the Hysteria album. Got that same dreary tempo.

An opening should be a statement of intent. Sky says: this is a dreary new song that nobody really knows but we’ll play it anyway to scare the shit out of you into thinking that the whole gig will be like this.
If they want to open with something off Credo for gawds sake go with something like ‘Egomaniac’

And throw in You Remind Me Of Gold, The World Tonight or Love On The Run.

Behind The Mask? Behind the feckin’ Mask? Really? Have a word with yourselves.

Whatever the do live is great in my book, but Sky as an opener is a puzzle if many in the audience don't know it. =|

Tell you what would make a great opener: ‘All I Ever Wanted’

It’s fun. It’s up. It’s positive. Has a great chorus. It’s the type of song that even if you don’t know it, after hearing the chorus once you’ll be singing it by the time it comes around again.

Probably the best opening to a gig I’ve ever seen was the Alison Moyet ‘Other’ gig from about 6 weeks back. Her spoken track ‘April 10th’ was played with nobody on the stage just brilliant lighting. It was mesmerising and a real statement of intent. It said: This is no retro gig. This is how it is. She grabbed you from the off and then it just got better and better as the gig went on. About 10 Hits/Singles played but at least 9 new/newish brilliant songs thrown into the mix. Superb gig.

@Patric - as I live under a rock I'd never heard Behind The Mask until Adelaide. I think it's fantastic!!

I'd also add that STAG sounds brilliant live (I'm sure I hadn't seen them do it before this tour.)

The set list will always be questioned - same for every band. If you asked just 3 people from here for their preferred set list all 3 would be different. But I gotta say that I'm absolutely loving this little tour, it's been fabulous, and they've been enjoying it too.

Karen (Crowbaby) first introduced me to Behind The Mask about 15 years ago. I thought it was a dreadful song then and I still do now. I hate the lyrics. Just one of those songs that annoys. I have to say I was interested in seeing them play it live but now that I have (via YouTube) I’d be happy to never hear it again.

Sky is an ok track. It just doesn’t scream ‘gig opener’. It just sort of meanders along doing nothing much. Once it finishes it gets forgotten pretty quickly. Lacks a punch.

Soundtrack is good to hear. But as I said I’d much rather hear ‘YRMOG’ ‘TWT’ or ‘LOTR’ than any of the above. Put ‘You’ll Be Sorry’ into the setlist and I’d be a very, very happy League fan. =D

My recording of "Behind The Mask" from this gig. At the beginning of the clip, Philip is making reference to the extreme HOT Melbourne weather that day...almost 40C :O

Behind The Mask certainly isn't up there with the best of their work, but I thought it was a great choice as a fans "treat". Judging from the youtube clips i'ts quite re-worked compared to the very 90's outdated single version. Like the longer intro and the new synth riff (the lyrics still naff though).
