The guy has bi-polar, give him a break! He is up and down all the time. Some times on top of the world, at other times he feels ill with the depression. Remember 2002? When he was charged with affray and sectioned. You probably do. That is where he is now, bad places, not in the right company... just with a bunch of fuck ups who want to exploit him for his name. He is sick, you are listening to a sick man. Almost distressing hearing him in-comparison with his well self. So please don't judge a man who isn't quite right at the moment. That's why his performances haven't been superb... Don't expect them to be.

This is kind of harsh. He seems happy with his life on his good days, his band is made up of musicians who love his music, and he's playing again because he has bills to pay. Let's not over-exaggerate the situation... there are more than a few bipolar musicians in the world, and a lot of them just try to get on with their lives without making a big drama out of it. For someone who was so publicly sectioned, I think Adam's doing pretty good with his return so far.

Not too bad I guess - having trawled all over youtube for the videos I still think there was too much of it off the cuff which I suppose I expected. For someone who is a good stage performer if he could only sort out the vocal (original or not) then I think he could have a brilliant show again. On that showing I will go next time.

It's such a shame to see him like this. I really hope he can get himself together enough to do some 'proper' gigs. some of the recent stuff on Youtube is so hard to watch. What a fall from grace...reminds me of someone else.....

Adam Ant was on ITV1 This Week programme. Seemed to be entirely sober and sane, they asked him about rock comebacks and why people did it. There was general agreement that it was about money and because he liked performing. They tried to compare rock comebacks with political comeback, rather lost on me?

Thanks very much for the photos and set list, much appreciated.

I was just flicking through the library copy of the current issue of 'Music Week' and it said that in addition to other promotional work for the new album (first in 17 years apparently) Adam will be appearing in this years Jools Holland New Years Eve BBC2 show. Not something I usually watch but I just might have a look on this occasion!

I wasn't prepared to wade through the length Jools Holland but thankfully a very nice person has put up these three on Youtube...

'Stand And Deliver'

'Ant Music'

'Vince Taylor'

Quite a striking look for Adam and his new band, looks great and I think sounds fantastic!

Absolutely love 'Vintage TV', don't know if it's available on more than SKY Channel 369 but they've got another 'My Vintage' program on Sunday 3rd February where Adam Ant spends an hour talking through his favourite music.
:)

Just a thought, wouldn't it be great if Phil (Oakey) could be persuaded to appear. Bet it would feature Bowie, Roxy Music and Donna Summer.

Well, I'll be going to see Adam here in Detroit on my birthday, which is nice. (Assuming he's fulfilling his gig commitments at the time, obviously.) Having looked up some of his recent setlists, I'm very much looking forward to it, even if he does play some new stuff (haven't heard the new album). A LOT of great songs in his sets last year.

Has anyone heard of/ordered tickets for the unique 'one night only' performance of the entire 'Dirk Wears White Sox' album at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on Saturday 19th April 2014 (full details on the main page of Adam's website (http://www.adam-ant.net/contents.html.

Supposedly, as mentioned in a magazine article I flicked through at a newsagent recently, a difficult album to perform live but although thinking it is great that he is doing it can't understand why it is 'one night only' as I would think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people who can't make that specific date and location.

Hope this doesn't sound too cruel but for a period in 1981 Adam was referred to, in our house, as Prince Chow Mein.

Heard Stand And Deliver on Radio 4 yesterday, played by Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen! Seems like he was a boyhood fan, fancied being a dandy highwayman.

I love 'Stand and Deliver' but hadn't heard of a cover, I rather tremble at the thought of a pale imitation of such an 80s classic!
