Aww, I hope this goes ahead and goes well, so he'll be encouraged to tour again. Like, here. :)

He played as a 'secret special guest' with The Glitter band last Friday then done a PA at the club afterwards.

I wasn't there, but people who were seem tobe uber excited so doesn't sound like it was a shambles :)

Now this I have to see! What's this Unholy Club and bands after thingy? Does that happen in Scala or do we get blindfolded and run with pitchforks to a vampire covern a few miles away where we get all gothed up and spear ourselves with broken kitchen appliances and get drunk on Malibu?

Unholy is a clubnight at the Scala, mainly for goff types aye ;o)
If you go to the gig beforehand, you can stay for the club.

A friend of mine at the Numan gig last night (didn't notice Adam coming onstage) so when he started singing, my friend thought Numan had 'lost it' hahaha
He said it was terible....

Surprise surprise

I think the reason i'm not having a total trauma about not being able to go to his London gig, is coz i wouldn't be at all surprised if it DOESN'T happen !

Tickets are now sold out and exchanging hands on ebay for considerably more. Having seen a few recent youtube clips I didn't bother. I'll sit this one out, watch the youtube clips (if he shows up) and decide whether to book for the next one.....

I saw Adam Ant tonight!!!!!

He played a 'secret gig' at a club I went to. The old punkier stuff (that I don't really know) actually sounded OK, but the pop stuff was errrrrrrrrrrrr ummmm.... well, it could have been better!!!

He was looking well though, I had a quick chat with him and got a photo as well - on some strangers camera :o

What pop stuff did he do? Here's Beat My Guest from youtube - sounded ok I suppose (for fan cam on youtube) but I still think I did the right thing by not getting tickets.

He started on Ant Music and also played Stand and Deliver. He done 3 (I think) other songs that my friend who likes all the early stuff knew then much later during the night, they came onstage again and he done a version of 'Born in the USA' but called it 'Born in the UK' dedicating it to S.O.P.H.I.E (http://www.sophielancasterfoundation.com/) which was nice but it went on for about 20mins and everytime the band went to end the song, Adam would rant about stuff then start singing again and they'd have to carry on. It was hilarious

If he really pulled his act together, I bet he could make a small fortune on reinventing himself, doing loads of gigs and tours etc., but I fear he's too weird to even realise his own potential.

Stand and Deliver was unrecognisable :/

Funny thing was, a lot of the younger people in the club didn't believe it was the actual real one, haha!

Just saw the old documentary "The Madness of Prince Charming" on youtube + a whole bunch of old live material. Must admit, he's quite the entertainer, and I truly love his early stuff.

I'm a big fan of the 'Strip' album. Very underestimated. But it was always going to be an impossible job for him to compete with The Ants. I read his book - hasn't had the best of lives. It's a bit of a sad read.

yeah, it is a bit sad, but Marco comes across as both very funny, but also as a good friend to Adam during his down periods.

I find it strangely attractive watching his old performances with all his gear on - both the "Kings.." period and the "Prince Charming" period - who today could pull this off!?? In my book it still works, and I was also surprised to find some of the songs sounding much better (faster, punkier) played live than the album versions.

Never really got into his solo stuff, apart from Goody Two Shoes, which I recorded on my taperecorder from Radio Luxembourg back in 1982.....aaah, distorted radio waves.....

Should I be worried!? Next time we meet, can I expect you to dress up as Dick Turpins sidekick Swiftnick?
