This is just a one off night so putting it in here rather than giving it it's own thread (which it may actually deserve...) anyway....

(and the blurb copied from elesewhere....)

This is a one-off night, and I really hope despite the late notice as many people as possible can come down. It's not Club Bohemia, that's dead, but it's still the Buffalo Bars, I've got together two of the most exciting electronic bands of the moment, it's Halloween (almost) and if that's not reason enough to dress up and party I don't know what is!

Breaking Glass is basically all the 80's synthpop and electronic music I'd sneak into my set at Club Bohemia together with the more accessible parts of TESCODISCO (but without the art). So this is just meant as a fun night. You should know most of the music we'll be playing; from familiar 80s names like Depeche Mode, Human League, John Foxx, Kraftwerk, Fad Gadget, Soft Cell, Siouxsie, Alphaville, Joy Division and other lesser known New Wave, Italo Disco and Industrial bands to bands of today like Adult, Fischerspooner, Freezepop, Presets, The Knife, IAMX, CSS and Vive La Fete.

You might not know Black Rabbit or Heartbreak, but personally I think they're both legends in waiting. We had Heartbreak at TESCODISCO earlier this year and they were the only band we've ever had that brought the venue to a halt (ie. the bar staff, the managers and everyone else who're normally in the lounge stopped working and came through to watch them) and everyone else was dancing. They are like the best 80's synth-Italo band you can imagine fronted by someone with the spirit of Freddie Mercury. You can't help but get drawn in and dance and smile when you listen to them. Black Rabbit are equally infectious, but swap the pop for a more brooding, darker edge; but they'll still have you dancing along. They are about as appropriate a Halloween band as you can get while remaining electronic and not covering yourself in blood (but they may do that anyway). Anyway, enough talk, they've both got songs on their MySpace profiles (though they're ten times better live) so go listen now and I'll hopefully see you all on Saturday.

Wow! went to see one of the best tribute bands ever the other night T-Rextasy - they were brilliant. I've wanted to see them for years and they certainly didn't disappoint. The singer was so like the lovely Marc Bolan it was uncanny.

Went to see Siouxsie Sioux the other night at the Roundhouse in Camden. So much better than I thought it would be, she's still a good performer after all these years. Most of the crowd still haven't ever had a wash though.

And Deacon Blue tonight in Sheffield. Don't laugh!!!!!

If you can't get a St Albans ticket then yes, do. RBN (Revolution By Night) are supporting as well - I think you mentioned you like them before?

Not a gig or a club, but some of you might be interested in Neil Tennant being interviewed onstage by Michael Bracewell as part of the Brighton Festival on Saturday 17th May. It's 7pm at the Corn Exchange in the Brighton Dome - and if I had a pound sign on this keyboard, I'll tell you it's seven pounds and fifty pence in fewer words.

An American would tell you they DO have pound signs on the keyboards.

It's just that "pound sign" here means "#". :)

Coming to DC area, George Michael and Crowded House, respectively. Think my concert-going is all full-up for the year, though.

Don't miss George Michael Deco. He was brilliant when I saw him last year. Stunning gig.
