Went to see Nitzer Ebb + Die Krupps last night, and it was a blast!
I have no speciel feelings for Die Krupps, but they delivered a kick-ass gig, and I could only sing along to 'Fatherland' and 'To The Hilt'....not that lyrics matters to music like this! ;)

Nitzer were in top form, and the sound were fantastic! The evening ended with both bands on stage doing 'Machineries Of Joy'. (from Paris gig).

If you get a chance - go see them!

Krupps were good, but Nitzer were AWESOME. Never sounded better. And what a finale with Machineries Of Joy.

ED, are you going to this new Club-i gig on the 2/6/11? Orac seems to think that it will be good.

Bad luck, I suppose that sort of thing happens all the time.

A little note to let those of you I know in or around the M1 area that my band are playing down your way for the first time in far too long a week on Sunday and if I was to let on that amongst other tasty 80s synthpop treats we will be playing a Human League song, I'm hoping that might tempt one or two of you to pop along and lend us some support (most of our fanbase is up here in Edinburgh and can't travel for this but we need a show of faces on the night to stand a chance of getting through to the main event)!

Think maybe I'll go see the Furs this week! Last I saw them was with THL at the Hollywood Bowl back in...2006, I think.

I saw Blondie supported by The Stranglers (and an Aussie band called The Machinations).

Machinations - oh dear.
Stranglers - Excellent!
Blondie - disappointing (didn't play 4 of my 5 favourite Blondie songs, two of which [Picture Thi, Sunday Girl] were hits), plus I don't pay $125 to watch a singer hold the mic out to the crowd for every other line.

As for Stranglers, I have a little list of the best ever tracks I've seen performed live (individual songs, not whole gigs). Top of that list is Pills by Client at a gig in Camden. I can now add Golden Brown to that list - just s sensational performance.

Waiting for The Presets to come on, and the DJ on stage is playing some sensational stuff. No idea what it is, but sounds brilliant!

Thought about it, but that would make me as sad as the feckers that hold their phones up in the air for the whole gig.

Support band now on - Parachute Youth. ZZZzzzzz.

Little Boots are off to America not sure if it's a band tour or DJ-ing.

Deacon Blues have toured (just) in the UK and are again in December. I'm thinking about going to see them at the Colston Hall.

And in January the Zombies, Animals, Yardbirds, Spencer Davis and Maggie Bell are all touring the UK together.

Just wondering is there much interest in festivals where The Human League are not part of the lineup. For example anyone here going to the soon to begin Glastonbury 2014 or, if it is just too pricy or difficult to get to, instead getting excited by the lavishly comprehensive BBC television and radio coverage?

I find festivals too big, and my enjoyment would depend on the weather!

I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than go to a festival just for the "festival experience".

JJ, it Couldn't Possibly be due to any of this that FB posted about the "Festival Experience" at Newark, could it??!!

Susan Snowden
Absolutely disgusted by what I've been put through at Newark Festival. We took chairs and some food as we'd both been at work. No chairs allowed, no food allowed. No way to find this out before hand. We had to stuff our food down on the roadside and take chairs back only to find they changed the rules and chairs were allowed and once in people had all manner of picnics going on. When I asked the girl on the gate if chairs were now allowed she just shrugged like 'God knows!' It was a pretty horrendous start to the night. Thankfully the acts were great but feel very let down by terrible organisation

Disappointing tonight so far, no chairs allowed, parking fiasco and no soft drinks being allowed through, no doubt due to your expectation to buy from inside.... Not really the family picnic atmosphere of last night.... Must try harder to please your clients!!!!

Darren Lord Juggins They had the car park open next to the park last night, happy to pay the £5, come back to same car park tonight, it was closed, apparently disabled only, no signs until you arrived... Then there was a poor guy who had no way of taking money and getting lots of complains from people wanting to park... He kindly let us in due to poor organisation and we paid the rate on the parking meter.....

Just disappointing when they did such a great job last night ;(

Client Liaison are a slightly bonkers but fantastic electro dance band from Aus. I saw them live a few months ago and it was one of the best gigs I've been to, and now you lucky Londoners get to see them at Oslo London on 16th Sept for the ridiculous price of less than a tenner!! The Aus ticket was $100 - they're big down here.

One of my Aussie pals was telling me about them recently. Will check them out (though have the feeling I've got something else on that date....)

Apparently Claudia Brucken and Suzanne Freytag are performing Secret Wish at the Garage in London on the 23 & 24/03/2018.
