A review of the first night's retrospective at the Tate Modern from the BBC including links to other reviews, including one from OMD - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21315793

Night 6 at the Tate and so it's the turn of Techno Pop. Surprisingly good reviews for this show and Spacelab is blowing peoples' minds night after night in the Turbine Hall - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/live-music-reviews/9867115/Kraftwerk-The-Catalogue-6-Techno-Pop-Tate-Modern-review.html

Apparently some people are getting tickets after a long wait at the box office each night and everyone who is successful says that it is worth the wait so why not take a chance folks?

That was a one-off. The application process us now closed, and I'll find out this week whether I've been successful for any of them.

I applied for all 8, and got Lou to do the 3 I wanted most as well (1. Computer World; 2. Man Machine; 3. TEE - in that order of wanting).

I only got Techno Pop, which was 4th on my list which is pretty good. I didn't get the one I most wanted: Computer World.

But Lou did!!!

At all the shows, they play most of Man Machine & Computer World anyway. They only 2 songs they only play in their specific album nights are Metropolis and Pocket Calculator. The other albums have more tracks exclusive to each night.

Not that I ever got to bloody see any of the gigs...
Arseing about on the internet since 1995...

Guess we shall just have to keep our fingers crossed that some of it was filmed for a potential official DVD release

It might be different here Dave as they're doing 2 shows per night, so a bit less time possibly.

Row 5, fairly central for CW, 2nd row from the back of the circle for TP. Can't wait!

Kraftwerk

Postby MemberD » Mon Jul 22, 2013 12:48 pm

Have Kraftwerk never been discussed here before? Couldn't find anything in the 'search'.

Anyway there was half an hour of live stuff from Latitude on BBC6 Music over the weekend.

For those who can't 'red button' things, it's also on youtube:

Thanks very much for the link, tried the red button whilst a boring bit on Top Gear Sunday evening but for some puzzling reason the BBC only offered picture but no sound. Delighted to see AND hear this now! =D

Wow that realy is truely incredible. Great visuals, the sund is so crisp, clear and utterly 21st century... difficult to believe tat it was originally recorded/created way back in the 70s/80s. This would be so fantastic on a DVD using a 5.1 home cinema system like what I have. Shame they haven't (to my knowledge) gone down this route.

Much as I loved every second of seeing Palace win promotion at Wembley, I'm still gutted that I had to miss the two Kraftwerk shows for it.
