It's a stunning album. Not a duff track on it IMO. Best thing she's ever done hands down.

It's a great album but 'Hometime' still remains my favourite solo album of hers. When I Was Your Girl is easily the worst track on the album.
If you were a diamond, I wouldn't want you now.

... compared with the other tracks, or you just don't like it? I think it's an pretty good track.

Compared to the rest of the album. It's a decent track but the weakest one on the album.

'the minutes' is a new entry this week at #5

Well done Alison.

aah - ok. Haven't heard the album yet.

Funny, though - I would NEVER EVER give her output a listen, if it wasn't for her history with Vince. Kind of cruel and unfair how that works, isn't it?

Yep couldn't agree more and I've never really been an AM or Yazoo fan. Has been on constant rotation in the car recently.

Nice to see you back, Steven, you old bugger..

It really is a fab album - my favourite has to be "Right As Rain" - am I the only one thinking Yazoo when hearing it?

I usually like Manhattan Clique remixes, but not sure what I think about their remix of "When I Was A Girl"....

I really like the album and it's getting loads of plays in the car at the moment. I think what's changed is not her song writing ability, it's the fact that she has teamed up with a decent partner in Guy Sigsworth and he's making really interest sounds for her. Let's hope she continues on in this vein.

With thanks again to SubHuman for a *** copy I’ve been listening to the Alison Moyet album ‘The Minutes’ during Sunday and am definitely loving the overall strongly appealing feel to this collection of songs. Ever since I first heard it on Anneka Rice’s Saturday morning Radio 2 breakfast show I’ve been mighty impressed with the fast paced memorable and catchy “Love Reign Supreme” and certainly feel that “When I Was Your Girl” and “Apple Kisses” are up to that high standard of enduring classic pop song. Whilst listening I noted down my opinions that there was a slight Gary Numan feel to “A Place To Stay”, “Filigree” had shades of Yazoo with beautiful music and lyrics and “All Signs of Life” was liken to a ‘fast express train' racing towards the end of the album.

Glad your enjoying The Minutes, it's probably the best solo album that Alison has done to date.

The whole 'Singles' release campaign has been, and is DIRE.
Does Alison forget that 99% of her fan base are her original followers? i.e FORMAT buyers.

I will NOT buy 'download/digital' only 'singles' =( They're NOT singles
IF they would just release one physical format for us record buyers, I would very happily buy a download 'mix package' we are always being totally ignored.

That said, I bought the CD, signed CD AND that lovely heavy duty RED vinyl in a card sleeve...SUBLIME! :)
