Alison Moyet

Did anyone else notice Alison on Jools Holland's Hootenany. I couldn't believe how slim she looked, they last time I saw her was on the Yazoo tour when she looked like the proverbial sack of spuds.

I saw that, she did indeed look and sound amazing.

Did you hear her on the recent My Robot Friend single? The Solvent mix is the closest I've heard to a new Yazoo song yet:

'Sack of spuds'? I disagree =)

I'm an Alison Moyet fan, she's a great singer, I do live in hope of a new Yazoo album though.
The Yazoo tour, live album and box set were all a dream come true, brilliant.

Yes I'm a fan too, but she does seem to have a weight problem at times. Hopefully that problem is all behind her now.

Alison talked about her reduction and weight loss in an interview some time ago, what she did she did for herself and her future health.
It was a great interview and she was frank and honest about it, I always thought she looked beautiful, I like her either way...she's such a funny woman, great looking too. =)
I'm looking forward to her new album, I wasn't that taken with her last 'The Turn' but everyone else seemed to love it? 'A Guy Like You' and it's remixes were brilliant though.

I didn't see that interview, I did read a newspaper article about her agrophobia before she did Chicargo. Aparently she went through a period at the end of the eighties and the beginning of the ninties when she found it difficult to leave the house.

Nope, I'm fine with it, and my Yazoo heart is far more satisfied than I ever thought it would be after 2008. It's only going to be 2 or 3 tracks they do.

Or did you mean 'cue JJ' because you should have put it in the Yazoo thread? ;)

Really like Changling - it's much more electro than her usual style, do we know who produced? If the rest of the album's like this it's going to be epic.

Alison's touring in the UK this autumn to promote her new album, looking forward to this. I might even persuade Mrs SubHuman out of the house.

Didn't think much of the song, tbh, but at least Graham Norton mentioned Yazoo.

'When I Was Your Girl' is not the best song from the album, in fact, I'm surprised they released it as the first single?

Looks like 'the minutes' will have a Top 5 placing in this weeks charts. She has really gone all out to push this album. She's been on loads of TV shows, radio and all over Twitter pushing it hard. Her biggest chart placing since the 80's.
If you were a diamond, I wouldn't want you now.

The new LP deserves it...brilliantly written, produced and performed.

I'm a long time fan and listener of Alison, and like a lot of you here, was/am a fan of Yazoo...naturally I followed her afterwards...but after her last LP 'The Turn' which I never listen to, and the one before that 'Voice'...I thought she may have lost herself a bit...but 'The Minutes' is right back on track...there are even elements of Yazoo on it...

Highly recommended.

=)
