Played the entire 'Credo' album yesterday from start to finish. Thought I'd give it another listen a few years down the line. Verdict: it's ok. Better than I remembered. Clunky in places (Into The Night & Privilege) and overall it lacks a certain something that would make it great but overall yeah it was ok.

Standout tracks: Breaking The Chains, Never Let Me Go, Get Together & When The Stars Start To Shine

Great tunes but dumb lyrics: Night People & Electric Shock

I'm sure I'll play it again in another year or so.

Currently listening to And Finally... by M People, one of my favourite bands of the nineties.

Spooky!
Havent looked in for a couple of days and I too decided to give Credo a spin, first time I have played the complete album in about 4 years. It was actually not bad, some editing of the songs would have helped it, where it goes quiet half way through some of the tracks like Into The Night etc. Before it has to my ears sounded like a badly produced set of demos, but this time it seemed much better production wise, mind you playing it back to back, was enough, just made it to the end twice. That's probably enough now for a further 4 years!

Credo seems to work for me as individual tracks rather than the whole album.

If I dip in and out I find it much more satisfying. I don't know why that is.

The remixes of the 'singles' on the album 'NP' 'NLMG' 'Sky' & 'Ego' are far superior than the album versions.

My Credo is the mixes of the above with Into The Night & Privilige dropped and it becomes a surprisingly great album.

'NLMG' (Italoconnection Mix)
'NP' (Mix)
'Sky' (Marsheaux Mix)
'Egomaniac' (Fotonovela Mix)
'Single Minded'
'Get Together'
'Electric Shock'
'Breaking The Chains'
'When The Stars Start To Shine'

Try playing the above instead of the original album and be amazed at how great it is.

Where did you get the remixes of Sky and Egomaniac from I've tried looking for them on ITunes and Amazon but no luck.

No. No. You're mixing up Secrets and Credo. You think Secrets is the best thing they've done since Dare! =D

Well that's odd I think that Octopus was the best album after Dare, although I know a few of you aren't keen on it and I was very impressed by the "singles" of Tell Me When and One Man In My Heart, not so keen on those for Filling Up With Heaven. I thought that FUWH was a good album track but it just didn't work on AM/FM radio. In fact I've just got them out to play tomorrow, it's a bit too late now. Night night everyone.

Listening to These Are The Days (Man With No Name Vocal) remix as I prepare to defrost the freezer - it's cold in there. Sometime I must get out all those cd singles I bought 1995-2003 (I'd just discovered all of the remixes available in those days). I usually stick to Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Buuren albums, for remixes, at the moment.

You would include Privilege (as it's spelled) if you've heard the Richard X version....just sayin' :p

Just plugged in my turntable for the first time in 10 years, so listening to lots of old records.

The 12" of Don't Go by Yazoo is so rich and beautiful it was what vinyl was made for. Brought tears to my eyes.

Now listening to the 12" of Letters to a Friend by I Start Counting. One of the best 12"s of all time imho.

I can't stop playing Tutti Frutti by New Order off their recent album Music Complete. Totally fantastic chorus! Totally right that they're now on Mute.

You can see the video of the slightly shorter version here.

It really is a great album and especially all the extended remixes which also are on Youtube - it's like the good ol' days. Really looking forward to the Planet Funk remix of 'People on the high line', as they did a terrific job with 'waiting for the sirens call'.

I am listening to Secrets, to try and remind myself what I really think of it / what all the fuss was about. I absolutely love some tracks on it, but I'm actually rather 'meh' about a few of the others.

Out of interest, which ones? Excluding the instrumentals (which I'm not crazy about) the rest are top notch. Best lyrics for me barring a few clunkers on Love Me Madly - attention/detention =D

Like: AIEW, Shameless, Never Give Your Heart, Reflections
Not really* : Love Me Madly (much prefer Michiel's remix), The Snake, Liar, Sin City, You'll Be Sorry, instrumentals

* unless I was listening through the whole album, I would never play these tracks.
