Here's a Christmas EP:

http://www.nme.com/news/pet-shop-boys/48249

Glad to see they're leading off with a new version of "It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas" - I always thought that song was too good for a fanclub-only release. Even if it *is* totally cheesy. :)

You can listen to an instrumental version of the entire Yes album here: http://xenomanianews.blogspot.com/2010/03/pet-shop-boys-yes-instrumental-edition.html

I'd love to hear the instrumental 'Secrets'. Remember when there was talk of that being a possibility?

Someone did me a DVD of "highlights" from Mini Play-Back Show - see if you can find the Weather Girls clip (two white girls put in fat suits and blacked up!) or the poor guy doing Visage.

Not sure the world really needs another PSB hits compilation already, but the accompanying DVD might be worth getting...

They seem to have 'good lip sync' with the song but my word there are some very young fans around... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgC4rAQQ7i4&

The new PSB single sounds like ....well, PSB.

They really should try turning to the dark side - this euro disco trash is kind of worn out - but to be fair, a 30 second teaser, is perhaps not much to make that kind of judgement upon....but I still do! ;)

That would be quite something!
With Neils lyrics and outlook, Petshop Boys could do something quite sinister...and since the demise of Soft Cell there is an opening, but I doubt they could ever reach the intencity and drama that Soft Cell did.

P.S theres nothing wrong with Euro Disco =)

In February there was a huge furore on Irish TV because a drag queen named 'Panti Bliss' (real name Rory O'Neill) went on a Saturday night TV show and called a reporter and the Iona Institute homophobes. The reporter and the Iona institute threatened to sue RTE TV and they reacted by paying out 80k to these people. As a result Panti was asked to give a speech in the Abbey Theatre to give his side of the story.

His speech went viral and caused huge national and international coverage. The PetShopBoys have taken his speech and turned it into a sort of trance/dance track.

The original speech can be found here:

Surprised to hear that it is in its third year but Festival No.6 boasts Pet Shop Boys in their lineup for 5th/6th/7th September 2014.

Good website with lots of interesting bits and pieces of information about this unique venue...
