Anyone seen the clip of PSB performing My Girl live with Madness?

Sounds great and highly entertaining!

There's a demo version of the track under products and exclusive tracks on the official psb site

Cool track

You can now listen to their new collaboration with Sam Tayloer-Wood:

Not bad, classic PSB, even if its a bit to quiet for my taste. Great little instrumental breakdown at 2.50.

Oh, I think it's quite lovely. My only question is why this isn't a proper PSB song, which is exactly what it sounds like. The singer might as well be Neil Tennant - has all of his intonations.

The Pets must be getting desperate. I've had 9 emails from their site to inform me that this particular piece of drabness has been released. Never got an email from the Pet Shop Boys site before.

It certainly doesnt improve on the original, so am unsure what the point of this pointless remake is.
Also the track for Girls Aloud is rubbish too

They're getting an Outstanding Contribution Award at next year's Brits:

I'm surprised - they usually give these things to prehistoric rock bands... :)

Well deserved too.

What's even better is that Simon Cowell DIDN'T get it.

Not for me, taste wise (or most of us on this forum) but he has for British music abroad and for the finances of British music in general. He's lining his own pockets along the way but so what? If you're good at what you do then you deserve a few bob.

Should we be getting excited about this???

From petshopboys.co.uk:

2009 will see the release of Pet Shop Boys' new studio album, "Yes". We can now confirm the complete track-listing:

1. Love etc.
2. All over the world
3. Beautiful people
4. Did you see me coming?
5. Vulnerable
6. More than a dream
7. Building a wall
8. King of Rome
9. Pandemonium
10. The way it used to be
11. Legacy

The album has a running time of approximately 48 minutes. Tracks 1, 6 and 10 are Pet Shop Boys/Xenomania co-writes. All other songs are written by Pet Shop Boys (track 2 with a little help from Tchaikovsky). As we have previously reported, the album was produced by Brian Higgins/Xenomania and has a provisional release date of March 23rd.

Sorry but I always find PSB albums a bit disappointing. They always have been and always will be a singles band.

Just my impression.

This one's produced by the same people as Girls Aloud, so I'm optimistic. Not that I'm particularly a Girls Aloud fan, but it sounds like a promising combination...

I don't think there is one single PSB album thats not a cracker. Even 'Release' grew on me after a bit and I think it's a top album. I'd love to see them live again coz it's years since I've seen them.

After having read about the new album, I'm carefully optimistic...

Don't get me wrong, I am always optimistic about a new PSB release but the quality of their singles is just so hard to match in an album context. The only one I've liked is 'Behaviour' which is also the first CD I ever bought.

But what about Nightlife? Very? Release?

I think Please is still quite a good album, but apart from that the only other I really like is Disco3 and Introspective.

Info - and a not particularly flattering photo of the PSBs - on the BBC News website.
