..or "Do you often cry to a DM song?" or "If Alan Wilder landed in a flying saucer in your backyard, would you invite him in for a coffee?" ;)

..furthermore you can't post more than 250 posts per thread, so you have to start a new one - a great way to lead the board into one big mess!

Great to see Panzer's site at the top of this board now!

Well, I certainly wouldn't mind Best Picture of Phil Part 23!! ;-)

Seems to me the problem on that DM site must be that it's largely populated by new people who often start up the same old topics? Good to have new people, but not sure it's good to have such a transient population.

nah, the biggest "problem" is that there's 31.869 members there, against 508 here! :D

31k is an unruly number. But I imagine people find a way to form cliques of some sort.

Members of the old board, have today recieved an email about the final move of the 'Secrets' board to Yuku. Why is this interesting? because now there's alot of new features this board lacks - here's part of the mail:

In addition, we have added some new features:

Search: fast and accurate search that works
Free Image Hosting: 30MB of storage to host jpegs, gifts, bmps, pngs
Posts Don't Fall Off the 20th Page: unlimited storage of posts
Advanced Private Messaging: 4GB of storage for you, friends list, ignore list, mark as unread
Profiles With More Customization Options: (e.g. embed videos/music, choose from a list of ready-made designer skins, HTML blocks that you can edit any way you want, etc).

ESH can give you the definitive answer Karen, and I think he's addressed it somewhere before.

Erm... the simple answer is that I haven't programmed one....!

Should be too difficult to implement on a basic level, let me look into it......

I can only access the inbox/PM if I get a message - the above link, StevieD posted doesn't work for me.

John/Matt - can we get that it back in the menu bar?

MULTIPLE USER IDENTITIES

In the last day or two there have been some silly new user names set up.

As you know, there are very few written forum rules here. However, it's standard forum behaviour/netiquette (not just here) that individual people only have one user account. Some places I know take this so seriously they instantly eradicate all the personae of any individual caught abusing this.

If there are any new users that I think come under this category I will ask Matt to look at the source of the new user name, and if it is found to be someone who already posts here I will suggest to him that both accounts are permanently removed.

Having spent 10 minutes trying to find a PM Valgabr sent me today. I am of the opinion that PunBB totally sucks!

Anyone for a change to PHPBB or InvisionBB software?

This forum looks and feels cheap and nasty; and has more bugs than a NHS Hospital!!

I have already mentioned the PM thing to Matt some time ago. I don't know what stage he has got to with regards looking into it. I am due to be speaking to him again in the next day or so and will remind him again.

OOh look a link at the top of the page for messaging.
To re-cycle Danny's comments
"I recall suggesting that it was a GOOD idea way back when, but SOMEBODY DID listen to me...."
Thanks Matt

So how about a news feed embedded in the page along the lines of the rss feed that was suggested ?

Hi All,
I'm having a few problems trying to attach an image into a post I copied the code

Image produces http://www.punbb.org/img/small_logo.png and then tried to adjust this for my image but can't seem to get it to work. Does it matter which website the image is hosted on? Also what is the /img/small_logo.png part about my image is saved as a jpeg. I seem to recall there may have been a thread on this some time back but can't seem to locate it.

Cheers Tom

Tom, did you put the things in?

If yes, I can't help but Stig probably can.

Hi JJ,

Yes added in the but when I go to preview it I just see the code and not the image. Im sure its a simple mistake on my part but can't seem to work it out at present.

Not your fault - I've just tried with the cake (which I pressume is the one you tried on), and you can't link images directly from picasaweb.
