September crept up on me by surprise, I've been so busy lately I thought it was still August. The weather is very August like at the moment, I hope it continues.

You luck people, I always thought they would get to Australia again. I'm still slightly surprised that their not doing more dates in South East Asia in the same time slot.

Great find Kevin.

Sad news: Philip's dog died. =( Been there. Horrible.

Great news: It might be time to get The Human League back in the studio. =D

Yes none of us look like we did in 1983... However I still think they all are incredibly attractive.

Thank you very much for those interview links Kevin =D Two of the best I've read in a long time. Philip and Susan said some lovely things and were very honest. Sad to hear about the loss of his dog but delighted at the prospect of a new album. Wonderful to hear how much sincere compliments mean to them.

Take time to watch TOTP on BBC Four this Thursday at 7.30 as The League's performance of Life On Your Own is part of another decent episode also featuring Alison Moyet, Scritti Politti and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. More info here -

Hoping very much that our friend Michiel (VoB) is safe and well in his little corner of the Caribbean, with all that's happening there at the moment.

There was lighthearted bantering over the weather yesterday on Facebook between me and him. If I hear from him, I'll let him know about your post here on the forum JJ.

Hi JJ and all, don't worry, I'm fine. My island, Bonaire, is off the coast of Venezuela and nowhere near the usual hurricane paths (aka 'the Hurricane Belt'). Furthermore, as luck will have it, the waters to the north of us are very deep, which keep the surface cool (hurricanes need water temperatures of at least 27 degrees Celsius). Usually hurricanes get close but bend northward, as Harvey did last month. Harvey and Irma have brought us rain but took away our trade winds, resulting in a current feel temp of 47 degrees Celsius. A nuisance, sure, but nothing as destructive as what our sister islands in the north have been suffering. I just hope our friends in Florida stay safe over the weekend, Irma is of record strength...

Good to hear all's well Michiel!

I wonder if your little corner of paradise is anywhere near Margarita? I went there on holiday once about a thousand years ago and visited Los Roques - beautiful!

Hey JJ, yes that is kind of our archipelago. West to east, off the coast of Venezuela, it goes: Aruba (everybody knows that one), Curacao, Bonaire (me), Las Aves, Los Roques, Isla Margerita. All are about 50 miles apart. The first two are Dutch Kingdom, and Bonaire actually is the Netherlands since 2010. So I emigrated away from The Netherlands in 2004 and remigrated in 2010 without moving...

You think that's confusing... if you had been living on Bonaire at the turn of the 19th century, you would have gone from being ruled by the Netherlands to being ruled by Britain, to Netherlands, to Britain and back to the Netherlands, all within the space of a few decades

What an extraordinary part of the world. I have a long-term aim to do some birdwatching in the Caribbean and South America, so one day, maybe.

I stayed in a resort on Margerita, and really didn't see too much of it which I regret. But the trip for a day to Los Roques was something else. Dodgy plane and a non-existent airport (just a shack really) but bloody hell - amazing snorkelling, perfect beaches. Apparently Charles Darwin referred to it as "Heaven on earth." I've got a feeling I also went to a place called La Blanquilla?
